What Amy Coney Barrett means for Oregon:

With the United States Supreme Court now more partisan than ever before, it's critical we send a walkout-proof Democratic majority to the State Senate to protect all Oregonians. Chip in now to get it done!

With only a week until Election Day, Mitch McConnell's Senate Republicans forced through a regressive right-wing ideologue to our nation's highest court, giving the court a 6-3 conservative tilt.

Here's a quick recap of what's at stake nationwide with this new court:

  • The survival of the Affordable Care Act – including protections for people with preexisting conditions;
  • Reproductive and privacy rights;
  • Marriage equality;
  • Basic safety and employment protections for the trans community;
  • Meaningful action to address the climate crisis, reduce our carbon footprint, and hold corporate polluters accountable.

With all of these issues under threat from extreme members of the court, we must be able to count on our state legislature to pass the laws that will protect our rights and our families here in Oregon. But Senate Republicans have made clear that they will sooner run away from the issues and take taxpayer-funded vacations than show up for the difficult work ahead of us.

The Oregon Senate Democratic Leadership Fund (SDLF) and I are leading the effort to ensure a walkout-proof majority in the State Senate. But we can't do it without you. Chip in now to flip those red seats blue!

We must continue to make headway on critical issues: protecting our freedom of choice to reproductive care; enacting gun safety laws that make it safer for our children to be back in school; and protecting our planet from raging wildfires, rising sea levels, and the extinction of countless species.

If our movement shows up, we'll have a walk-out proof majority in the Oregon Senate and will have taken a huge step to save our democracy. Please make a split contribution to the SDLF and me, and let's get it done!

Thank you for your continued support,

Rob
