This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you use our website and other online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”) or when you otherwise interact with us.

If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the bottom of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice, such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you an email notification. The purpose of this website is to share information about important political and policy issues and encourage individuals to participate in elections and the electoral process. Therefore, the petitions, surveys, and forms on this website may be limited to residents of the United States with a valid U.S. ZIP code.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you fill out a form, make a donation, send us an email, sign up to receive email updates, sign a petition, sign up as a volunteer, schedule a meeting or other event, participate in a contest or promotion, make a purchase, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request information, or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include your name, email address, postal address, phone number, mobile number, payment information, occupation, employer, and other contact or identifying information you choose to provide.

Oregon election law requires the Campaign to collect and report certain information about contributors. When an individual’s aggregate contributions exceed $100 in a calendar year, campaign finance reports generally disclose the contributor’s name, address, and occupational information. If the contributor is employed, employer information may also be required. Campaign finance reports filed with the Oregon Secretary of State are generally available to the public.

Donations made through the Site are processed by third-party payment processors, such as ActBlue. We do not store your credit card information under any circumstances.

Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Site

When you access or use our Site, we may automatically collect information about you, including:

LOG INFORMATION:
We may log information about your use of the Site, including the type of browser you use, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and the page you visited before navigating to our Site.

  • To report information required by Oregon election law to the Oregon Secretary of State Elections Division, including contributor information required to be disclosed in campaign finance reports (for more information, visit the Elections Division website);
  • In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, regulation, or legal process, or as otherwise required by applicable law, rule, or regulation;
  • If we believe your actions are inconsistent with the spirit or language of our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Friends of Rob Wagner, its employees, volunteers, supporters, or others; and
  • With your consent or at your direction, including when we notify you through our Site that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. This restriction does not apply to sharing with vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to provide services on our behalf and who will not use such information for their own purposes, or when disclosure is required by applicable law, rule, regulation, law-enforcement request, or legal process.

We may also share aggregated or anonymized information that does not directly identify you.

We may link to third-party sites to share news and information with you. Online Petitions

If you sign an online petition, you understand that the petition may be treated as public information and that we may make the petition, your name, city, state, and any comments provided in connection with it publicly available. In addition, we may provide such petitions or compilations thereof, including your comments, name, city, and state, to national, state, or local leaders or to the press.

Social Sharing Features

The Site may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools that let you share actions you take on our Site with other media, and vice versa. The use of such features may enable the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity providing the social sharing feature. We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to help protect information under our control from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Access to systems containing personal information is limited to persons and organizations that require access for legitimate campaign or operational purposes. Where appropriate, information transmitted through the Site is protected using encryption technologies such as Transport Layer Security (TLS). No method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information electronically is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Information on Children

Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. Therefore, this website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We comply with applicable requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and other applicable laws concerning children’s personal information.
